tBN systems are maintained in a modern, Class-A Data Center.

Redundant Internet Connections

tBN's network is one of only a few "multi-homed" ISP networks in Canada, consisting of redundant backbone connections to three major backbone providers.

The three backbone connections include:

  1. A burstable OC3 connection to AT&T.
  2. A burstable OC3 connection to Bell Nexxia.
  3. A T3 connection to WorldCom.

Redundant Power

  • Dual Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS), each rated at 300 KVA. These provide continuous on line battery backup at all times. Use of state-of-the-art static switches provides a level of redundancy beyond normal UPS systems.
  • 750kW diesel generator provides unlimited power incase of a prolonged hydro outage.
  • 9,000 gallons of diesel stored on site

Climate Control

  • Temperature is controlled at 65 degrees Fahrenheit with a fluctuation of no more than 1.5 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Humidity is controlled at 50% with fluctuation of no more than 1 to 3 percent.
  • Massive Liebert air conditioning units cool the datacenter. Multiple units provide redundancy in case of a unit failure.
  • Channel Cooling under the raised flooring helps provide a constant temperature.

Fire Suppression

  • NASF3 gas file suppression system.
  • Pre-action sprinklers (or dry) do not carry water in the pipes until absolutely needed.
  • 200 smoke detectors are positioned above and below the raised floor

Security

The importance of security is recognized and addressed in a number of ways:

  • The datacenter is manned 24 x 7 by highly trained security personnel in a bulletproof guard booth.
  • Access to the Data Center is controlled via a secured entrance using an Iris Scanner biometric identification system.
  • All interior and exterior doors feature key card access with fully logged access control.
  • Closed circuit video cameras provide perimeter and interior surveillance.
  • All power, security, environmental and fire systems are monitored 24 x 7 via a central notification panel.
  • All perimeter and interior walls are monitored for security breach, providing notice to the main guard booth along with audible alarms.
  • Full utilization of third-party security monitoring 24 x 7.
  • Multi-tiered Firewall Infrastructure

Modern Design

  • Solid concrete foundation and fire-rated walls.
  • All power and data communications are neatly and securely carried below the raised floor.
  • Well-trained network engineers and system administrators provide around the clock network and server monitoring and troubleshooting.

All data is stored in a secured environment with appropriate backups while data transport occurs in a 128-bit SSL encrypted environment.

High-availability and load balancing are provided by complete IT and operational redundancy. Combinations of host-based and network-based Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) are used for monitoring and reporting activities. Independent auditors assess the vulnerabilities of both internal and external networks on a periodic basis using a variety of scanning tools. These external security assessments are used to confirm existing controls and support the continuous improvement of security measures.

The system protects sensitive user and vendor data and provides secure transmission and storage of user information and transaction data to ensure data privacy and integrity. When you select tBN as your e-business SCM solutions provider you can be confident that your information will be safe and that your important SCM applications will always be available.
