tBN now gives you the power to integrate with Ariba's Punchout
solution, linking your business to purchasing organization
using Ariba Buyer and the Ariba Network. This means that you
no longer have to lose business to the e-Market power channels
because now you can offer Ariba integration to your Fortune
500 customers.
What's Ariba?
Ariba is a business-to-business (B2B) electronic commerce
platform and network services provider. A buying organization
(typically fortune 500) using the Ariba network typically
uses the e-procurement system known as the Ariba Buyer. The
Ariba Buyer system is essentially a buying platform that a
company uses for all of their procurement needs. The system
consolidates and unifies the buying process -- removing the
difficulty that organizations face in dealing with many different
purchasing technologies offered by their trading partners.
But in order to work with an organization that uses the Ariba
Buyer system, a supplier must become what some refer to as
"Ariba Compliant". Compliance means that the supplier
is capable of displaying their catalog in the correct format
and is able to send and receive Purchase Order information.
tBN now makes this capability available to our subscribers.
How does it work?
At the basic level, here's how it works.
The buyer selects your product catalog from the Ariba Buyer
application which takes the buyer to your tBN eBusiness storefront.
The buyer fills their shopping cart with the items they want
and then goes to the 'Proceed to checkout' process. The checkout
process then returns the buyer and the items in the shopping
cart back to the Ariba Buyer system. When the order is processed
and completed through the Ariba Buyer application, a purchase
order is generated and sent to your tBN eBusiness storefront
via the Ariba Network. The purchase order is then converted
into an order and waiting for you to process.
You receive the order just as if the buyer placed the order
through your storefront.
Proven. Open. Flexible.
Integrated and designed for end-to-end real-time
collaborative eBusiness.
